Oops: I forgot to greet my best friend a “Happy Birthday!”
This year, I forgot my best friend’s birthday. I guess there’s a first for everything; and I know what you must be thinking…
but it was actually less of that, and more of this…
I know it’s no excuse, but for some out-of-this-world reason, I totes forgot it was April 12 on that particular day—which is why I owe her so much more than just a ‘Belated Happy Birthday’ greeting. I could have texted her 2 days after, but better late (and awesome). So here it goesssss!
This is as much a THANK YOU, as it is a belated birthday gift…

Reason #1: We’ve stood the test of time!
Oh yes, contrast pretending to be mermaids in the pool to dancing in the club to ‘listening to Bob Marley cd’s’: we have grown to be ‘proper ladies’ the right way :))

The awkward years were well worth it—I mean check us out now :)) Not bad at all ;)
Reason #2: Having a cousin for your best friend definitely has its perks (and we even coined ourselves a term-frusins): I mean we’re stuck together for life!

Reason #3: She’s definitely my broken-record therapy!
Reason #4: I can totally be my weird and insane (more of sabaw) self around her without being judged—just made fun of :))
Reason #5: We’ve shared countless memories, that sometimes, the only ones who get us are US.
Reason #6: She’s my 24-hour emergency hotline!
She’s one of those few people that I can count on 24/7. I can call or text in the wee hours of the morning without feeling apologetic about it. Arya has always been compassionate enough to take all of my emergency calls to give sound advice or lend an (extra-concerned) ear. That’s BFF love.
Reason #7: She’s just too precious that I would never ever trade her in for anything else…pinky swear!

Reason #8: Distance or a lack of time together has never been a problem. She’s a constant in my life :)
Lucky for us: we have both!
Reason #9: We dream BIG together!
We are each other’s cheerleaders. It’s great to have someone you can chat with for hours when it comes to your greatest goals and wildest ambitions! You know someone’s got your back when she’s genuinely happy for your accomplishments. Arya is someone I can share ideas with, someone who will always give me her honest opinion, and will continue to be my encourager for life. She knows where I want to go, and truly wants me to succeed; and I, the same for her.
We believe that God has amazing plans in store for us, and we can only be so happy to share our dream experiences and blessings with each other!
Reason #10: And lastly—I love her because she’s too kind, awesome, and understanding that she’ll let this one slide! Because she’s more than just ‘a best friend on her birthday’, she’s a person I’ve loved (and will love) for life! Sorry I’m this bad at birthday dates! :(
