Some things you might care to know...

Nikki is a girl whose body cannot contain the amount of things she wants to do.
She had decided to marry the ocean a long time ago.

Quoting Kerouac, she believes...

She thrives on positivism and good vibes, which might annoy the hell out of you; but that's the only way she knows life. And she ain't sorry.

Like the Beatles, she is a lover of love.

She requires a regular dosage of happy pills, which consists of Vitamin A-rt, Vitamin Sea, and her drug surfing- which is perfectly fine to OD on! (Don't panic, it's organic.)

Nikki is all about dreams and making them come true. She constantly ponders on the word "passion."
She is all for making a difference because she knows that "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together."

She, from time to time, enjoys burrowing into her rabbit hole- a world of mermaids, and flowers, and rock and roll showers.
To Nikki, the world is a playground. She hopes to meet you in the sandbox, where you can talk about the random hidden treasures waiting to be discovered amongst the dirt. Surprise her.

Today, I purchased my first Rated PG bag. Rated PG by my friend Paola Germar. How can I ever resist anything mermaid? AND she threw in something sweet to go with it! What can I say? It doesn’t hurt to have designer friends! ;)

My latest set of paintings are on their way to their new home in Canada. :) Hoping and praying my client (who’s been missing the Philippine seas) likes them. *FingersCrossed

#2 GlamRock Mer-femmes hit the Runway!

Oh hello. I on-a-whim joined this fashion styling contest for some girly fun, and I bagged 3rd place! I’ve been so blessed this summer :) God, why have you been spoiling me so much?! 

I’m so used to conducting styling experiments on my guinea pig cousins (during my guerilla photoshoots) with such limited amount of ‘closet’, that being able to pull out from a smorgasbord of fashion stores made this whole experience oh so sweeeet!..definitely a candy-store moment for couture-deprived me! Having dealt with a shortage of extravagant fashion pieces (all my life) truly trained my eye good—because it rendered me super creative! Little Miss Limited-Fashionista would turn towards her most dependable friends: the spunky thrift slash vintage shop, the SALE, and the ever-reliable tiangge. There’s always something to be unexpectedly thankful for. :)

This was supposed to be a season of post-resignation bum ho hum, but it apparently churned out some pretty fresh creative produce! Yey to freelance-discipline! I may just be getting there—slowly; still, I haven’t achieved my targeted (schedule-OC) quality yet. I oftentimes feel like I could be a lot more productive with the time being. (Damn you Facebook!)

Yes, I’ve been bitten by the sea-siren-bug—and its venom runs ocean-deep. 

I totes have to brush up on my blogging skills, because I obviously have no sense of time. Well there goes my journalism career! Who am I to update the world on the ongoings of this semi-boring life?! BUT since you DID choose to follow me, here it goes…;) FYI: Chronological isn’t in my vocabulary (today); so expect an update that’s topsy-turvy!

—If you haven’t heard: There’s this a-tinge-of-contoversial girly-girl group show at the Finale Art File entitled Y2K Babes; so if you’re not too busy (and happen to be quite the hipster), go and check it out! The show runs ‘til June 1, 2012. :)

I have a couple of new works exhibited, including my 2011 animal drawings.

Oh and in case you’re wondering where the mermaid obsession comes in: My works entitled In Paradise, the Arctic isn’t too cold, thus allowing you to swim with the cute and gentle polar bears” (phew!) and “Got Mermaid?” should be telling of my summer aquamarine-blues. 

The best part of it all: I’m signing my works with Nikki Ocean from now on ‘til forever; so how’s that for some mermaid magic?!
